When Should I Replace my Brake Pads

Brakes commonly wear out and there are very visible signs that can indicate the cause of brake problems. Signs include a shaky steering wheel, difficulty in stopping or a loud, metal scraping sounds in your wheel. These are just common indicators that you need to check your brakes. However, there are more uncommon indicators that your brakes may be showing which you might overlook. These may include brake pedals pressing farther to the floor than usual, the pedal being too light or loose, unusual pedal vibrations, shaking, or vehicle wobbling.

In any case, you can always refer to your owner’s manual for specific information on when to replace your brake pads. Here at Payne Chevrolet Buick GMC Parts, we are happy to give you a varied list of Brake Pads that will allow you to choose the right part for your Chevy, Buick, or GMC.
